Outside Time

Last week was quite interesting. While driving back from a meeting, I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I watched a Bald Eagle take flight just a few miles from where I live. It was a magnificent sight. Perhaps it wasn't such a rare event for others around local lakes, but a first for myself since moving here.

My travels in Oklahoma led me to Red Rock Canyon State Park (see image above).

Locally, a basset hound with his nose to the ground was spotted running across one of the fields on the ranch. An attempt was made to catch up with him, if for no other reason than to save him from his nose, but alas the nose won and I couldn't find him. I do hope he made it home safely before night fell.

The hawks did a fine job of chasing the crows away a few days back. Of course the crows returned when the hawks went away. There have been a lot of interesting sights regarding the animals lately, including a pair of the biggest feral hogs I've ever seen running across a neighboring hill.

As the year presses forward I think I will try to spend a little more time outdoors. Too much inside time just isn't healthy for anyone. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
